Flirty Friday: A Showstopping Sexy La Senza Christmas with Tess Daly

Phew…back from Paris – what an adventure! More on that later as we have some useful shopping tips.

We’ve since been to Leeds and London, where we were told to look out for Tess Daly on some lovely theatrical Billboards for La Senza’s new Christmas advertising campaign ‘Steal the Show.’ She’s probably adorning La Senza shop fronts too – lucky us!

Love the style and lighting used in these ads. They are injecting a little bit of glamour back into the underwear world.

Its good to see a move away from the Wonderbra lusty world of big boobs which has become a bit boring and a move to a celebration of almost burlesque glamour…makes me want to buy underwear!

Do you agree?

For those that don’t know her, Tess Daly is a mother of two and wife of Vernon Kay, currently presenting with Bruce Forsyth on Strictly Come Dancing TV show in the UK.

We love the ads hint at Moulin Rouge showgirl style and can’t wait to see them in real life.

Happy Friday – Toodle Pip!

Hello Friday Flirts – bit late today – we been distracted by the Halloween flurry and are not getting round to much flirting!

Thought we’d share some recent Halloween themed Vintage Finds from some of our favourite sites…

Vintage Halloween Postcard on Old Postcards

The more we read, the more we realise Vintage Halloween postcards are quite collectable and worth a tidy little sum in mint condition. We do like collecting postcards, so here’s some of our favourites from Old Postcards

Through 30 years of travel they have acquired over 3 million vintage postcards in numerous categories, from Art Nouveau to Make-Up to Wrestling.

We’ve not yet used them ourselves, but they do ship worldwide – definitely worth a look!

Vintage Inspired Halloween Accessories

Flapper Girl also makes to order, so if you want something a little different for your cup cakes, be it for a vintage inspired wedding or just a sun drenched picnic in the park full of champagne and glamour (sigh), these could be the icing on the cake (groan…sorry…)

Definitely a cute Halloween accessory to make you the hostess with the mostess!

Flirty Friday – DIY Vintage: 1970’s Style Tunic

Happy Friday Vintage lovers everywhere!

We’re currently chilling out with Stan/Adam and Jamie in the lovely city of Bristol but we couldn’t let this Friday pass without mentioning the georgous Gianny L and posting her DIY Vintage 1970’s Style Tunic clip.

A simple way to use up those odd bits of vintage material you fell in love with, but haven’t worked out how to use yet. Love the cheeky music too.

Check out her blog for more interesting DIY projects such as recylcing old lightbulbs into a vase

Anyone have any more DIY Vintage projects to recommend for the rainy days in?

Flirty Friday – The Puppini Sisters are on tour!

With some brilliant voices and strong 1940’s style harmonies – the Puppini Sisters were a brilliant find!

We first heard them on their album ‘Betcha Bottom Dollar’ which includes great arrangements of classics such as Pat Ballard’s Mr. Sandman, originally recorded by The Chordettes in 1954. It also includes one of our favourites ‘Jeepers Creepers’, originally written by Harry Warren and Johnny Mercer and premiered by Louis Armstrong in the 1938 film Going Places.

We finally get to see them live, as they are touring the UK.

Check out ‘Millionaire’ from their new album The Rise and Fall of Ruby Woo…love the line ‘Look for my Limousine, once more its not there.’ …always seem have that problem of a morning…!

Flirty Friday – Knickerbocker Glories Burlesque Troupe

Sadly we missed the Knickerbocker Glories at The Space last weekend. Boo!

We were really sad to have missed them and the fun and frollicks that no doubt ensued…but there is always a silver lining!

We watched this titilating photo montage on their Knickerbocker Glories myspace blog, produced by Monica Alcazar. Lovely Vintage Style!

So who  fancies some good clean fun? Lets hope the rumours about another show at The Space on 4th December are true!

20s Flapper Inspired Garter by Dottie's Delights

Our favourite find is on Dotties Delights based in Chicago. This 20’s flapper inspired Garter is on our christmas list, we can add a little flirty fun to an outfit or pretty-up a pair of boots.

Handmade using vintage lace in black and dark maroon – this is fun and flirty without looking cheap.

The Dotties Delights Etsy store says there is only one left in this design though….race you!
